XCS's Strength-Based Twin: Part I
نویسنده
چکیده
Wilson's XCS has rapidly become the most popular classier system of all time, and is a major focus of current research. XCS's primary distinguishing feature is that it bases rule tness on the accuracy with which rules predict reward, rather than the magnitude of the reward predicted (as traditional, strength-based systems do). XCS is a complex system and di ers from other systems in a number of ways. In order to isolate the source of XCS's adaptive power, and, in particular to study the di erence between strength and accuracy-based tness, we introduce a system called Strength-Based XCS (SB{XCS), which is as similar to the accuracy-based XCS as we could make it, apart from being strength-based. This work provides a speci cation of SB{XCS and initial results for it and XCS on the 6 multiplexer and woods2 tasks. It then analyses the solutions found by the two systems and nds that each prefers a particular type of solution. A sequel paper provides further analysis.

XCS's Strength-Based Twin: Part II
This sequel continues the comparison of the twins XCS and SB{XCS. We nd they tend towards di erent representations of the solution and distinguish three types of representations which rule populations can form, namely complete maps, partial maps, and default hierarchies. Following this we evaluate the respective advantages and disadvantages of complete and partial maps at some length. We conclu...
متن کاملI-40: Ultrasound in Multiple Pregnancy
Ultrasound has revolutioned the care of women carring twins. First trimester evaluation is the best time to determine chorioniocity and amnioniocity in multiple gestations. First trimester diagnosis is based on the number of gestational sacs, amnions and yolk sacs. Growth rate in multiple multiple gestations during the fist and early second trimesters parallels the growth rate of singleton preg...
متن کاملPredictive power of individual genetic and environmental factor scores.
This study explores the use of an individual's genetic (IGFS) and environmental factor score (IEFS), constructed using genetic model fitting of a multivariate strength phenotype. Maximal isometric and dynamic strength measures, one maximal repetition load (1RM) and muscle cross-sectional area (MCSA) were measured in 25 monozygotic and 16 dizygotic twin pairs. The use of IGFS and IEFS in predict...
متن کاملTwin signed total Roman domatic numbers in digraphs
Let $D$ be a finite simple digraph with vertex set $V(D)$ and arcset $A(D)$. A twin signed total Roman dominating function (TSTRDF) on thedigraph $D$ is a function $f:V(D)rightarrow{-1,1,2}$ satisfyingthe conditions that (i) $sum_{xin N^-(v)}f(x)ge 1$ and$sum_{xin N^+(v)}f(x)ge 1$ for each $vin V(D)$, where $N^-(v)$(resp. $N^+(v)$) consists of all in-neighbors (resp.out-neighbors) of $v$, and (...
